THE SCHOOL BOARD

Assignments :

Presided by the Head of the school, the school board implements the pedagogical project, the school rules, the timetables and the school calendar as well as the management of expats and residents. It also expresses its views on pedagogical and educationnal questions.

Not to be mistaken with the Management committee, in charge of the budget and finances.

Distribution of the seats within the board:

- Administration (school head, accountant, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs) : 3 seats

- Parents : 2 seats (1 seat for a primary school parent, one seat for a secondary school parent)

- Pupils: 1 seat (secondary school)

- Staff: 3 seats (2 teachers and 1 administration staff)

Organisation

The Arthur Rimbaud French School was created in 1987 and welcomes 150 pupils of all nationalities, from nursery school to the last year of secondary school. It belongs to the network of the Agency for French Education Abroad and is officially recognised by the French and Cypriot Ministries of Education. The school follows the French curriculum while laying a strong emphasis on English and Greek, which are taught from nursery school on.

It is a private, non-profit organisation that is run by a management Committee made up of parents elected by all the pupils' parents.
